Bathing Baby

There are few experiences in life that are as enjoyable as bath time with your child.  In the beginning, bathing your newborn can seem like a daunting task.  Making sure the water is the right temperature, ensuring you have everything you need at hand, and knowing how to bathe the baby are all essentials.  But the most important thing to remember is that bath time is a terrific time for bonding with your baby. 

Being prepared is the key to a successful and enjoyable experience:

Choose a warm, draft-free location

If not using a slip-proof baby bath tub, place a foam bath mat or washcloth at the bottom of the tub so the baby won’t slip

Have everything you need read and within easy reach before you begin

In a small bowl, mix a little baby soap with warm water. Use this solution for washing so you won't have to worry about getting too much soap on your already slippery baby

Have a towel and diaper handy so you can quickly wrap and dress your baby after the bath is over

Bathing a newborn can be scary in the beginning, but soon it will become second nature to you, and bath time will be an event to look forward to.
